Before you can access ArcGIS Insights in ArcGIS Online, you must have an ArcGIS Online organizational account. Administrator privileges are necessary to configure the ArcGIS Online organization.
Additional configurations are necessary to use all of the functionality in Insights. These configuration settings allow organization members to geocode data, use maps (and extents) suitable for their region, and more.
Configuration of utility services
Utility services are required for specific functionality in your ArcGIS Online organization, such as performing analysis that depends on utility services. Utility services are enabled in ArcGIS Online by default but can also be configured to meet the needs of your organization. The following table lists each utility service and the Insights feature it supports:
Add location to your datasets by specifying an address.
Use dissolved boundaries for Buffer/Drive Times.
Enables Find Nearest.
Add demographic information to a location or area using Enrich Data.
Configure travel modes
Specify a means of transportation, such as walking time or trucking distance, for Buffer/Drive Times.
For more information, see Configure utility services.
Default region specification
Specify a default region to control the default map extent.
ArcGIS Living Atlas content configuration
Subscriber content from ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World is available to all members of your organization as part of your organizational subscription. Premium ArcGIS Living Atlas content is only available to users with the appropriate roles and privileges.
The geocoder in your organization must support batch geocoding to be used to enable location on multiple addresses. ArcGIS World Geocoding Service is available through your ArcGIS Online organizational account and can be used to perform batch geocoding. You can also configure a custom batch geocoder for your organization.
