In ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Velocity is available to the user type of Creator or higher. Use of Velocity is controlled through privileges.

Complete the following steps to create roles that allow users to sign in to the Velocity app and create feeds and analytics:
- Sign in to ArcGIS Online with an account that is a subscription administrator.
- Click the Organization tab.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Click the Member roles tab.
- Under the Manage roles option, click the Create role tab.
The Create role dialog box appears.
- Ensure that the Privilege compatibility parameter is set to View, edit, create and manage and that the text below it reads Compatible with Creator user type.
- Create a role with at least one Velocity privilege. To allow publishing feeds, under the Role privileges parameter, expand General privileges > Content, and turn on the Publish feeds option.
- Optionally, click the Set from existing role parameter to choose and set the new role on the Publisher template.
- Turn on the following Content privileges: Publish feeds, Publish real-time analytics, and Publish big data analytics.
- Click Save to save the new role in your organization.
- Expand the General privileges option, expand the Members option, and turn on the View option to assign user accounts to the new role.
The new role is created and user accounts assigned to it can sign in to the Velocity app and create feeds and analytics.
