Extend the reach of ArcGIS to your mobile workforce and use Navigator to get directions, edit routes, access shared routes, and start navigating, all while offline.
The main parts of the app are as follows:
Tip:
While this topic presents an overview of the main app screens, focus on the routing workflows the app facilitates. For an overview of how to download a map, create a route, and start navigation, see Route in Navigator.
Map and panel
The majority of your time in the app is spent using the map to plan where you need to go and visualize your routes. This is the current map. When viewing the map, you can search for addresses, places, and routes, get directions, edit routes, and start navigating. Access the Maps list to download and open another map or change your settings.
- Back—Return to the Maps list.
- Search—Searches for a route, place-name, address, coordinate location, or asset. Search honors what is configured in the map. Tap on a search result to see the route or location on the map and get options for generating directions in the panel.
Tip:
- Panel—View additional information. Here, the panel shows Places, which shows the results of past searches for places, addresses, coordinate locations, and assets, and Routes, which contains the list of available shared routes. The panel can also show the details of other items (such as search results, dropped pins, and assets), a list of results (such as assets selected on the map or search results), turn-by-turn directions (route details), or navigation.
When the panel displays a list, tap an item of interest to view its details. Tapping on a search result, route, or place in the panel will show options for generating directions. See Route in Navigator for details on turn-by-turn directions and navigation.
Tip:
In the Routes list, you can tap Refresh to refresh the list of available routes.
- Map—View and interact with your assets and
observations. Tap an asset to view its
details in the panel. You
can pan, zoom in and out, and rotate the map. Long press to use a
magnifier and drop a pin at a location of interest or search to get
result pins on the map. Tap a pin to view its details.
Tip:
If you rotate the map, the rotation angle is shown by a compass in the upper right corner of the map. Tap that icon to remove the rotation and orient the map north.
- Your location—Where you are. Recenter it on the screen by tapping the GPS button.
- GPS button—Display where you are. It has two modes: automatically centering on your location and not centering on it . Tap to change modes.
