Install Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects server components

The Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects add-on allows you to integrate your SAP business intelligence (BI) data with the ArcGIS platform. In the context of this topic, the ArcGIS platform refers to ArcGIS Online (available at arcgis.com) or to an on-premises Portal for ArcGIS (available through a URL specific to your organization).

Verify required software

Before you install Esri Maps for SAP BusinessObjects, the following software components must be installed and properly configured on your system:

  • SAP BusinessObjects 4.0 SP4 or later

Install the server-side components

  1. Save the server installation archive file, em4bobj_server_install.zip, to a temporary location on your system.
  2. Extract the contents of the archive to the webapps folder of your Tomcat installation.

    For example, on Windows, the default installation path of Tomcat on the server is:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps

    On Linux, the default installation path of Tomcat on the server is:

    <BIP_INSTALL_DIR>/tomcat/webapps

    where <BIP_INSTALL_DIR> is the directory in which your BI platform is installted.

    When the extraction is complete, the webapps directory will contain a new subdirectory named em4bobj.

  3. Restart your application server.

The installation of the server-side components is complete.
