AI in ArcGIS Instant Apps

ArcGIS Instant Apps leverages artificial intelligence (AI) in a variety of ways throughout the software.

Note:

AI capabilities and assistants may be in preview or beta.

Your ArcGIS Online administrator needs to configure assistants before you can access AI in Instant Apps. You must also have the privilege to use AI assistants. For beta capabilities, your administrator must turn off the Block Esri apps and capabilities while they are in beta setting. Other account types, such as public accounts, are not currently supported.

For more information about each generative AI capability and assistant, see the following:

Credits

Using the translation assistant, as well as beta functionalities, do not consume credits. For more information, see Understand credits in the ArcGIS Online documentation.

Security and privacy

AI in Instant Apps aligns with the following principles:

  • Prompts are not used to train Esri or third-party AI models.
  • Prompts are not used to improve any Esri or third-party product or service.
  • Prompts are not stored or shared, unless you give explicit permission, such as when you provide feedback about an assistant, agent, or capability.
  • Prompts are not used to improve the assistant or agent for your own use.

AI transparency cards are available with more security and privacy details.

Limitations and bias

Translations and suggestions generated using AI can be misleading or inaccurate. To avoid potentially reinforcing any unintentional biases in the AI models used by Instant Apps, human judgment should be applied to interpreting and acting upon the AI outputs.
