The 2D Products template is designed to create high-resolution True Orthos, orthomosaics and digital elevation models.
Download sample data
Sample data for the 2D Products template can be found on the sample data page. For the 2D Products template, a collection of images over a port in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is available. To download the sample data, complete the following steps:
- Go to the sample data page.
- In the 2D Products table, click Download.
- Extract Sample_Banana_Plant.zip to a convenient location on your computer.
Create a project
To create your sample mapping project, complete the following steps:
- Start Drone2Map.
- Sign in using your ArcGIS Online organization or Portal for ArcGIS credentials.
- Provide a name for your project and choose a location where you'll save it or accept the default.
- Click Add Images or Add Folder and browse to the location of the sample images folder, select the folder or images in the folder, and click OK.
This sample dataset includes an external GPS file. Drone2Map lets you know that it did not find any GPS information in the images by opening a new window requesting an external GPS file.
- When the GPS File Required window appears, browse to the Files folder in the sample data folder and select the Geolocation.csv file. Click OK to load the file information, then click OK again to add it to the New Project page.
- Select the 2D Products template and click Create to create the project.
- On the Home tab, click Options. Notice on the Adjust Images tab, the Refine Adjustment box is checked. Click 2D Products. Click OK to accept the default settings.
- Click Start to begin processing.
View the results
When processing is complete, the full-resolution True Ortho or orthomosaic and digital surface model are added to your map display and Contents pane.
View the images by panning and zooming around the map and checking your 2D products on and off to display the True Ortho or orthomosaic and Digital Surface Model layer. Zoom in close to observe the high-resolution imagery produced with this template.
