FAQ for mobile workers

The following are some frequently asked questions that map users have about Navigator.

How do I get the app?

ArcGIS Navigator is available on Google Play for Android devices and the App Store for iPad and iPhone.

You must have an ArcGIS organizational account provisioned with an ArcGIS Navigator license to use the app.

What is the licensing of ArcGIS Navigator?

ArcGIS Navigator is available to members of ArcGIS organizations with accounts that have been configured with an ArcGIS Navigator license. This includes those with a subscription to ArcGIS Online or an account on ArcGIS Enterprise. For more information, see Licensing Terms of Use.

How do I get started with the app?

Sign in with your ArcGIS organizational account that is configured with an ArcGIS Navigator license. Once signed in, download a map for your area and search for locations or shared routes to start navigating. See Prepare Navigator for details.

Why can't I sign in?

The following are a couple of common issues when trying to sign in:

  • Verify that you typed your username and password correctly.
  • Ensure your account is part of an ArcGIS organization, and that your account is configured with an ArcGIS Navigator license.

What are the supported platforms and system requirements?

See Device requirements. At the current release, iOS 15 or later and Android 8.0 (Oreo) or later are supported.

How can I give feedback on the app?

The ArcGIS Navigator team wants to hear from you about the app. You can provide feedback on the ArcGIS Navigator Esri Community page or by sending an email to ArcGISNavigator@esri.com. If you're experiencing issues using the app, contact Esri Technical Support.

Which types of maps are supported in the app?

Navigator supports downloadable navigation maps, including those provided by Esri, and custom navigation maps created in ArcGIS Pro 3.2.2 or later. See ArcGIS Navigator coverage for details about which regions currently have navigation maps included with Navigator.

If you're connected to ArcGIS Enterprise and you don't see the navigation maps you need, work with your portal administrator to get additional maps registered with your portal.

What functionality is supported in custom navigation maps?

With custom navigation maps, you can see and search for your organization's assets, view information about assets, route on custom roads, and use custom travel modes.

Can I edit a map in the app?

No, editing a map in the app is not supported.

Can I roll back to a previous version of the app?

No, rollback to a previous version of the app is not supported. For details, see the product life cycle page for ArcGIS Navigator.

How do I see more information about assets on the map?

Tap an asset to see more information about it in the panel. If you cannot see the information you require, talk to your map author about whether they need to configure pop-ups.

How do I search for my organization's assets on the map?

You can search for your organization's assets on the map just as you would search for any other type of feature. Tap Places, tap Search, type the name of the asset you're looking for, and tap Search on the keyboard. See Quick reference for more details. If you're unable to search for the assets you require, talk to your map author about whether they need to enable searching for assets.

How do I use routes that have been shared with me in Navigator?

Tap the Routes tab to see routes that have been shared with you. See Use shared routes for details.
