Update May 6, 2025
This update includes changes to the Survey123 website and the Survey123 web app.
Survey123 website
Fixes and improvements include the following:
- The rich text editor now includes an HTML source editor mode.
- ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World subscriber content is now available for selection when defining the calculation of a question or populating choice items in a drop-down list.
- A bug was fixed in which the required setting was not retained for a Single select grid question after publishing the survey.
- A bug was fixed in which the Analyze tab crashed when a filter returned no results and the survey included a choice question with more than 50 choices.
- A bug was fixed in which a table item could not be selected when authoring a calculation that queries data from a layer.
- A bug was fixed in which a table item could not be selected when setting choices from a layer for a Dropdown question.
- A bug was fixed in which a visibility rule did not work when referencing a Single select question whose choice name contained multiple consecutive spaces.
- A bug was fixed in which changes to the image size in the rich text editor were not preserved after saving the survey.
Survey123 web app
Fixes include the following:
- A bug was fixed in which a read-only address question could still be edited in the web app.
- A bug was fixed in which the group description did not appear when switching to another language.
- A bug was fixed in which a survey published from the web designer contained two title HTML tags resulting in an alert in the ANDI Accessibility Testing Tool.
Update April 10, 2025
This update includes changes to the Survey123 field app.
Survey123 field app (version 3.22.58)
- A bug was fixed in which multiple images were deleted when attempting to delete a single image.
- On Android, prominent disclosure and consent requirements of the Play Console User Data policy have been improved.
Update March 19, 2025
This update includes changes to the Survey123 website and the Survey123 web app.
Survey123 website
Fixes include the following:
- A bug was fixed in which the survey could not be published if it contained any broken images, displaying the error message: {}.
- A bug was fixed in which the web designer did not load if the selected survey used the organization theme, and the organization theme's background color was set to transparent.
- A bug was fixed in which the submitted value of number or time question types was overwritten by the calculation expression of the question when the survey was launched in edit mode.
Survey123 web app
A bug was fixed in which a survey did not load if it was first published in the web designer and republished in Survey123 Connect when it was set to closed status.
Update February 26, 2025
This update includes changes to the Survey123 field app, Survey123 Connect, the Survey123 website, and the Survey123 web app.
Survey123 field app (version 3.22.53)
Fixes and improvements include the following:
- Support has been added for the Emlid Reach RX and Emlid Reach RX MFi external GNSS receivers.
- A bug was fixed in which attachments with very large ID numbers would not display in a form that was opened from the Inbox.
- On Android 12 and later, a bug was fixed in which Leica GNSS receivers could not be connected.
Survey123 Connect (version 3.22.49)
Fixes and improvements include the following:
- When you publish a new survey, a hosted feature layer view is now created for submissions.
- A bug was fixed in which a survey connected to a feature layer view could not be updated.
Survey123 website
Fixes and improvements include the following:
- Supports a new option Capture Z-values when authoring a map (point) question. When enabled, the published feature layer can accept the z (altitude) value for a point.
- Individual map tools (search, zoom, home, locate, and coordinate input) can be configured when authoring a map question.
- For surveys in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3 and above, the maximum file size for image questions has been increased to 100MB, and the maximum file size for file questions has been increased to 500MB.
- The new attachmentsDefExp method for report templates allows the template to filter out attachments.
- A bug was fixed in which a survey fails to preview or publish when it contains a question visibility rule that refers to a value in a previous question that contains unclosed quotes in the question name.
- A bug was fixed in which questions used in a calculation will not appear in the preview on the Edit panel, even though the calculation runs as expected.
- A bug was fixed in which images are not displayed when two or more images are included in a note section.
- A bug was fixed in which questions authored in Survey123 Connect with a custom defined field length return a non-human-friendly error message when editing sent responses in the website.
- A bug was fixed in which users with a non-administrator role were not able to access shared surveys from the My Favorites tab in the website.
- A bug was fixed in which the expected zoom extent (that was defined in the survey design) was not used on the Data tab.
- A bug was fixed in which the results view layer for a published survey contained unexpected duplicate sublayers.
- A bug was fixed in which generating a report fails and returns an error message when the form_id string contains non-ASCII characters.
- A bug was fixed in which generating a report for a survey containing an unanswered geoshape question returns the following error: An error occurred when rendering by report engine.
- A bug was fixed in which generating a report fails when a related table has an empty outStatistics parameter.
Survey123 web app
Fixes and improvements include the following:
- Performance has been improved when a survey contains dozens of languages.
- A bug was fixed in which the basemap gallery did not have a scroll bar when launched within a map question when viewed in large map mode.
- A bug was fixed in which an Arabic survey doesn’t align to the right when the first label, or the customized survey description, is not in Arabic.
- A bug was fixed in which photos with special characters in the file name cannot be uploaded to an image question.
- A bug was fixed in which the following error was returned when a survey published with Survey123 Connect contains an unexpected HEX code: The survey is not accessible or does not exist.
- A bug was fixed in which surveys created in Survey123 Connect that contain pulldata("@layer") functions worked only intermittently.

This update includes changes to the Survey123 field app on iOS.
Survey123 field app (version 3.21.66)
On iOS 18.1 and above, a bug was fixed in which the input keyboard did not stay retracted after entering a text input in a form.
