In Survey123 Mobile, you can open surveys and ArcGIS QuickCapture projects.
You can sign in to browse content that's shared with you. You can also scan a QR code or use a link to open content directly.
Browse and open content
The following steps describe how to browse and open content that's shared with you in Survey123 Mobile.
- Start Survey123 Mobile.
The sign-in screen appears.
Note:
If you are already signed in, the app takes you directly to your workspace.
If you have a QR code or a link for a survey or project, you can open it directly.
- Tap Sign in and sign in with your ArcGIS organizational account.
Your workspace appears.
- Tap the Add content button
and choose Browse.The Browse page appears, showing content that is shared with you.
- Tap Download to download a survey or project.
- Tap on the downloaded content to open it.
- Start capturing data by doing either of the following:
For a survey, tap Collect, complete the survey questions, and submit your response.
Note:
If the survey is configured for multiple languages, click the menu at the top of the form and choose from the list of available languages. If no translations have been supplied, no languages are listed. The default language used is determined by the survey author.
For a QuickCapture project, enter any applicable project user input, and tap the buttons to capture new records.
Note:
Not all QuickCapture functionality is supported in Survey123 Mobile. For more information, see QuickCapture capability in ArcGIS.
Open content with a QR code or a link
Content owners can share QR codes and links to their surveys and projects so that users can open them in Survey123 Mobile. For example, a content owner may distribute a QR code on a website or send a link in an email. The following steps describe how to scan a QR code or use a link to open content that is either shared publicly or shared with an organization or groups.
- Start Survey123 Mobile.
The sign-in screen appears.
- Tap Continue without signing in.
The Open content page appears.
Note:
If you are already signed in, in your workspace tap the Add content button
and choose Open. - Open a survey or project by doing one of the following:
- Tap Scan a QR code to open the camera and scan a QR code for a survey or project.
- Tap Use a link to paste or type a URL for a survey or project. The following are examples of links you can use to open content in Survey123 Mobile:

The app downloads the survey or project to your device and opens it.
If the survey or project is not shared publicly, you are prompted to sign in with your ArcGIS organizational account before the survey or project opens.
Use links to open content from inside a survey or QuickCapture project
Links can be included inside a survey or QuickCapture project to provide a way to launch help web pages, web maps, other apps, or other content.
When a survey or QuickCapture project contains a link to another survey or QuickCapture project, instead of leaving the app, that content will open inside Survey123 Mobile.
The following are examples of opening content from inside a survey or QuickCapture project:
- One survey to another survey—A risk assessment survey contains a link to a detailed health check survey that is only required to be filled in when certain risk thresholds are met.
- A survey to a QuickCapture project—A biological diversity survey contains a link to a project that allows big-button capture of specimens in a designated location.
- A QuickCapture project to a survey—A big-button infrastructure condition assessment project contains a link to a survey that is required for a specific condition scenario.
