Available with the ArcGIS Indoors Maps extension.
An ArcGIS Enterprise portal administrator must import the license file for Indoors into your portal. You can then set permissions for members of your organization and certain functionality in ArcGIS Pro. Once you set permission levels for members and enable access to ArcGIS Pro functionality, they can access the Indoors geoprocessing tools in ArcGIS Pro after they successfully connect and sign in to your Enterprise portal.
Import the licenses for Indoors
Indoor Floor Plan Editor checks for the ArcGIS Indoors Maps and ArcGIS Indoors Spaces organization extensions when connecting to a portal. You or a portal administrator must import the license files into your portal for the app to successfully connect to it.
ArcGIS Indoors Spaces allows you to share a web map for use in Floor Plan Editor for floor plan management, Indoor Space Planner for space management, and enables workspace reservation capabilities in Indoor Viewer and Indoors mobile. ArcGIS Indoors Spaces is an add-on to the ArcGIS Indoors Maps license; you cannot have ArcGIS Indoors Spaces without ArcGIS Indoors Maps.
Note:
If your organization licensed Indoors using the legacy Indoors organization extension, it will be supported until expiration.
Perform the following steps to import the license file:
- Import the license files into your portal.
- Ensure that the Indoors license files are listed as organizational extensions.
- Click the Organization tab and click Licenses.
- Click Organization extensions.
- Verify that the correct licenses are listed.
Set up access for ArcGIS Pro
Perform the following steps to set permissions for the members of your organization who need to use ArcGIS Pro:
- Assign the GIS Professional Advanced user type to the named users in your organization who need access to ArcGIS Pro.
- Assign these named users the Publisher role.
Members of your organization who need to use ArcGIS Pro must connect to this portal before using the ArcGIS Indoors geoprocessing tools.
Security certificate configuration
Your portal must have a valid Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate from a trusted entity for Floor Plan Editor to run without warnings. Web browsers have built-in security features that prevent connection to servers that do not have a valid certificate.
If your organization uses self-signed or Enterprise CA certificates for Floor Plan Editor, you must add exceptions in some browsers to be able to access the Floor Plan Editor URL. This can be disruptive, so it is recommended that you use a trusted certificate signed by a certificate authority.
Identity store configuration
ArcGIS Enterprise allows you to use enterprise accounts and groups to control access to your ArcGIS organization. Use an organization-specific identity store to set policies for password expiration and complexity; control access using existing Active Directory, LDAP, or SAML groups; or use authentication.
User roles and types
When you create users, review the type of users available for details about assigning roles and access.
Users must have an Editor or Creator user type to access Floor Plan Editor.
Permissions
Floor Plan Editor requires users to sign in before use. To successfully create or edit a floor plan, you must have a default role of Publisher or Data Editor, or have equivalent permissions assigned through a custom role.
