Create ArcGIS GeoBIM apps

You can create ArcGIS GeoBIM apps to connect and visualize web maps and web scenes with georeferenced BIM project data.

Note:

See Security requirements for ArcGIS GeoBIM before you create an app.

  1. On the project's Apps page, click the Create New drop-down arrow and choose the type of app to create.
    • Viewer
    • Issues Dashboard
      Note:

Both Viewer and Issues Dashboard apps allow you to view and engage with your BIM projects, documents, issues, and schedules. The main difference is the issues chart widget in the Viewer and the ArcGIS Dashboards in the Issues Dashboard. To learn more about the apps in ArcGIS GeoBIM, see the Engage tab.

    The App Editor page appears.

  2. Provide a name for the app in the text box at the top of the App Editor page.
  3. Choose a theme for the app in the Theme panel.
  4. Optionally, click Customize and customize the primary colors of the chosen theme.
  5. Optionally, click Edit Header Image to upload a header image and add a URL to use for the app's header.
  6. In the Source section, click Select map and choose the web map or web scenes that you want to use in your ArcGIS GeoBIM app.
    Tip:

Choose a map or scene that contains supporting layers for your synced Autodesk Construction Cloud project documents, issues, and models. To learn more, see Add supporting layers to maps and scenes.

  7. Optionally, choose the project web scene that was created from the Add Document Models tool to create an app with simplified and performant 3D documents.
  8. Click Done to return to the Apps Editor page.

If you own the web map or scene, missing layers are added to the map and you are asked to save the map or to save a copy of the map with the added layers. You can also click Cancel to choose a different map.

If you don't own the web map or scene, missing layers are added to the map, and you are asked to save a copy of the map with the added layers. You can also click Cancel to choose a different map.

  9. If you added a web map and a web scene, click the thumbnail switcher in the map widget to switch between the views.
  10. Optionally, click Custom in the Initial View section and click Modify to set the map's initial zoom level and extent.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Optionally, add and remove map tools using the toggle buttons in the Tools section.

The tools appear on the Map widget preview when enabled.
