Document Viewer widget

The Document Viewer widget integrates the Autodesk Platform Services Viewer with ArcGIS. The widget allows you to view and interact with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) documents in ArcGIS Experience Builder.

Note:

The Document Viewer widget also supports Autodesk BIM 360 project documents.

Examples

Use this widget to support app design requirements such as the following:

Usage notes

This widget requires connection to a Map widget. The Map widget must contain a web map or web scene with features created from the ArcGIS Pro BIM cloud connection or feature layers with links specified in an ArcGIS GeoBIM project.

To view documents with the Document Viewer widget, you must sign in to an Autodesk Construction Cloud account.

There are three ways to use the Document Viewer widget:

  • You can connect the widget to a Map widget. The Document Viewer widget displays selected map features.
  • You can connect the widget to a Link Explorer widget. The Document Viewer widget displays selected linked documents.
  • You can connect the widget to a Document Explorer widget. The Document Viewer widget displays selected ACC project documents.

You can use the lock button at the top of the widget to lock the current document and stop the widget from updating based on new selections.

Note:

The widget currently does not support displaying information for multiple selected features. If you select multiple map features, a warning appears asking you to change your selection to a single feature.

When you include this widget in an app, the widget panel provides you with the following interaction options:

  • Orbit—In orbit mode, the camera moves around the focal point of the model. In this mode, the up direction is always maintained.
  • Pan—Move the model up, down, to the left, and to the right.
  • Zoom—Increase or decrease the magnification of the current view of the model.
  • First Person—Navigate the model as if you are walking through it.
  • Camera Interactions—Presents a set of tools for controlling the camera. The options are roll, focal length, and fit to view.
  • Measure—Use the tools to measure distance, angles, or area.
  • Section Analysis—Use this tool to view the model in sections along the X, Y, or Z planes.
  • Document Browser—This displays all models and views available from the loaded document.
  • Explore Model—Use this to take apart a design and see the parts that make up a model.
  • Model Browser—Browse individual sheets or 3D models. Search for objects by name or ID and click the toggle button to hide or display the selected objects.
  • Properties—Inspect properties of the model or selected objects, including constraints, materials, finishes, and identifying data.
  • Settings—Use the tabs on the Settings dialog box to customize the viewer.
  • Full Screen—View the model in full-screen mode.

Note:

The Document Viewer widget may display an error message if you render a model in the viewer and leave the app open long enough for the initial token to expire. Refresh the page to clear the error.

Note:

If the connected web map or web scene contains a building scene layer with no feature service, you must turn on map pop-ups.

Note:

The widget does not support GeoBIM schedules layer links.

Note:

The widget does not fully support small-screen device layouts.

Connect an Autodesk Platform Services application

To use the Document Viewer widget in ArcGIS Enterprise, you must connect your enterprise portal to an Autodesk Platform Services (APS) application.

  • If you have an APS application you are using for ArcGIS GeoBIM, add the following URL to the callback URL list:
    https://webadaptorhost.domain.com/webadaptorname/apps/geobim/aps-auth/
    Note:

You can replace https://webadaptorhost.domain.com/ with https://*.domain.com/ to authorize multiple servers on the same domain.

  • If you do not have an APS application, create an APS application for ArcGIS GeoBIM, then add the above URL to the callback URL list. After you create the application, you must authorize it for your Autodesk Construction Cloud account.
