The Select Fields tool
selects a subset of fields to retain. This tool is
useful when incoming data has extraneous or irrelevant fields. It can also be configured to remove geometry from features.
Example
A continuación se presenta un ejemplo de uso de la herramienta:
As a logistics manager, in analysis of point-based observational data, you used the Calculate Motion Statistics tool to calculate a variety of attributes about features in motion. You can then use the Select Fields tool to retain only the calculated attributes relevant to your requirements.
Usage notes
Tenga en cuenta lo siguiente cuando trabaje con la herramienta:
- This tool does not require geometry. Geometry can be deleted using the Remove Geometry parameter. By default, geometry is retained.
- You can remove fields when configuring a source or feed instead of using the Select Fields tool. Fields can also be deleted using the Map Fields tool.
Parameters
A continuación se indican los parámetros de la herramienta:
| Parameter | Description | Data type |
|---|---|---|
| Input layer | The point, line, or polygon features to choose a subset of the fields to retain. | Features or tabular data |
| Fields to retain | One or more fields to be retained for the next step in the analytic model. Options include Select all, Select inverse, and Select none. | Field |
| Remove Geometry | Removes a geometry from the schema while preserving attributes and time data. The default is No. | Booleano |
Consideration and limitation
Tenga en cuenta lo siguiente cuando trabaje con la herramienta:
All fields and geometry can be deleted, but the output must have one field or geometry at a minimum.
