What's new?

Workforce for ArcGIS has regular updates for the web and mobile apps. The web app is currently version 17.0.1, released in October 2017. The iOS mobile app is version 1.2, released in April 2017, and the Android app is version 1.2.1, released in July 2017.

Project owners

Version 17.0.1 of the web app was released in October 2017 and includes the following enhancements and fixes:

  • Pass additional information to Collector for ArcGIS and Survey123 for ArcGIS

When enabled by project owners, mobile workers can pass additional information to Collector and Survey123. While configuring the project, the project owner can specify that the ID and Location text be passed when opening Collector or Survey123.

    Note:

Using the additional parameters requires Collector for ArcGIS 17.0.3 or later.

  • Identify project members who are no longer members of an organization

Members of a project who are no longer part of an organization are indicated by an error icon Invalid user error. This helps you avoid assigning work to mobile workers that won't complete it and keep your project clean.

  • Use Managed App Configuration with ArcGIS Enterprise

Streamline your mobile app deployment by pushing the URL of your ArcGIS Enterprise portal through your mobile device management (MDM). When your users open the mobile app, they'll see the OAuth screen from your portal.

Dispatchers

Version 17.0.1 of the web app was released in October 2017 and includes the following enhancements and fixes:

  • See the date of an assignment's current status

Dispatchers now see the date an assignment was updated to its current status instead of the assignment's creation date. This date identifies assignments that aren't progressing through your workflow as you'd expect.

  • View attachments added by mobile workers

Mobile workers will soon be able to attach photos and videos to their assignments while they are working in the field. Some organizations use this to provide proof of work completion, while others use it to document issues noticed in the field that require additional work. Dispatchers can view these attachments to verify the work, create assignments for follow-up work, or otherwise act on the added information.

  • Collapse the list to see more of the map

When you need to see more of the map, click Collapse side panel Collapse side panel in the web app.

Mobile workers

Version 1.2 of the mobile apps for Android and iOS were released in April 2017. Android released version 1.2.1 with bug fixes in July 2017.

  • ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5.1 or later is now supported.
  • When launching Collector for ArcGIS or Survey123 for ArcGIS, the map or survey that opens can vary based on the assignment type used to launch the app.
  • iOS now supports Croatian and Indonesian, which were already supported on Android.
  • Mobile workers get various bug fixes and improvements.
