Introduction to ArcGIS for Teams assistant (beta)

ArcGIS for Teams assistant (beta) is an in-app productivity tool that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to recommend search results and data. It provides suggestions and understands geographic context through prompts or search queries.

Get started

To get started with ArcGIS for Teams assistant (beta), sign in to ArcGIS from the Options tab in Microsoft Teams and turn on the Enable AI assistant toggle button in the Settings pane. Note:

Your ArcGIS Online administrator needs to configure AI assistants before you can access ArcGIS for Teams assistant (beta), including turning off the Block Esri apps and capabilities while they are in beta setting.

Credits

Using ArcGIS for Teams assistant (beta) does not consume credits.

Feedback

To provide feedback about a specific response, click the thumbs up or thumbs down button and complete the survey. The feedback may be used to guide additional development of the assistant.

Security and privacy

ArcGIS for Teams assistant (beta) aligns with the following principles:

  • Prompts are not used to train Esri or third-party AI models.
  • Prompts are not used to improve any Esri or third-party product or service.
  • Prompts are not stored or shared.
  • Prompts are not used to improve the assistant for your own use.

AI transparency cards are available with more security and privacy details.

Limitations and bias

Suggestions generated using AI can be misleading or inaccurate. To avoid potentially reinforcing any unintentional biases in the AI models used by ArcGIS for Teams assistant (beta), human judgment should be applied to interpreting and acting upon the assistant's outputs.
