Note:
You need the following account and license types to use this workflow:
- Microsoft license—You need a Microsoft 365 license, role Contributor or higher, to use this workflow.
- ArcGIS account type—You must sign in to an ArcGIS account to complete these steps.
After you add a reference layer to a map, you can view details about an ArcGIS for SharePoint reference layer in a browser window.

To show a reference layer's details in a browser window, complete the following steps:
- From the map tools, click the Layers button .
The Layers list appears on the map.
- Click the More options button next to a reference layer.
- Click the Show layer details button .
Note:
This option is not available for a data layer.A new arcgis.com window opens in your default browser showing the layer's details.
