There are several options for navigating the map.
You can pan and zoom using touch screen motions, or zoom in and out using the zoom tools.
Depending on what is enabled, you may be able to change the map extent using an overview map or the Home and Previous extent/Next extent tools.
Use the following table as a guide for navigating the map.

Move or pan the map. | Drag on the map to move it in different directions. |
Zoom in to a specific area on the map. | Stretch your index finger and thumb apart around the area in question to zoom in. |
Zoom out to a specific area on the map. | Pinch your index finger and thumb together to zoom out. |
The zoom tools are displayed in the upper right corner of the map. Use the zoom slider or the zoom in (+) and zoom out (-) icons to zoom in and out on the map.
If the overview map or the Home and Previous extent/Next extent tools were enabled, you can use these to change the map extent.
