Start a new site

To get started with ArcGIS Hub Basic, you can create a new site. You will need an ArcGIS Online account (employee account) and the appropriate appropriate privileges assigned to your user role.

If you already have a subscription to ArcGIS Hub Premium, you can get started by creating a custom initiative (includes a site by default) or by choosing a template from the gallery.

  1. Sign in to ArcGIS Hub.

If the first card on the Overview page says Sites, you are using ArcGIS Hub Basic. If it says Initiatives, you are using ArcGIS Hub Premium.

  2. Click New on the first card.
  3. Provide a name for your site and click Create site.

The name you provide is used to automatically generate your site's URL. While you can configure this URL at anytime, it's best to determine the format of your URL early to avoid broken or forwarded links as you build your site.

Once your site has finished activating, the site editor automatically opens, where you can configure your site's URL and begin designing the layout. To learn more, see Site editing basics.
