New support for georeferencing Revit files
ArcGIS GeoBIM has expanded support for georeferencing Autodesk Revit files. The Add Document Extents tool now automatically reads the Revit model's internal coordinate system (EPSG/WKID) and combines this information with the coordinates of the model. To learn more, see Georeferencing workflows.
Revit 2026 support
ArcGIS GeoBIM now supports generating 2D geometry for Autodesk Revit 2026 files.
Note:
The Add Document Models tool does not currently support Autodesk Revit 2026 files.
Use Revit default view to generate Models layer output
Previously, GeoBIM determined which elements to display in the Models layer by checking for a view named {3D}. If the view was not located, it would select the first available view based on its ID, and if no 3D view existed, it would create one.
With this enhancement, GeoBIM now checks the ACC project to identify the default view that is set for the Revit model and uses this view to generate the simplified 3D geometry. This improvement ensures more consistent and predictable results.
