United States Census Bureau

Esri provides data from the United States Census Bureau for the United States and Puerto Rico. Census data is updated every 10 years and represents a complete count of the population. Census demographics are point estimates, representing April 1 of the census year.

The Demographic and Housing Characteristics (DHC) file, released in May 2023, provides basic information on population and housing as well as detailed information on the following:

  • Age
  • Sex
  • Race
  • Hispanic or Latino origin
  • Household type
  • Family type
  • Relationship to householder
  • Group quarters population
  • Housing occupancy
  • Housing tenure

Esri has augmented the 2020 Census data with additional data:

  • Hispanic Population by Race
  • Population 18 and under by Race
  • Comparison to key 2010 and 2000 Census measures
