The February 2025 release includes updates to Esri ArcGIS Places datasets.

Data Axle
The following updates were made to the ArcGIS Places datasets derived from content supplied by Data Axle:
- Vintage November 2024.
- In early 2026, Esri will discontinue support for the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes provided by Data Axle and used in the United States Business Summary dataset.
- A new Esri-created attribute: NAICS Industry Sector, is available for Canada and the United States.
Foursquare
The following updates were made to the ArcGIS Places dataset derived from content supplied by Foursquare:
- Vintage January 2025.
- Esri is incorporating Foursquare Open Source Places into the global ArcGIS Places data. As a result of this change to the source content, customers may notice some differences from previous versions when using this data in Esri products and services, such as the number of attributes available for a location, the number of regional place records returned, and an updated category code system. See the Places category finder to locate updated category codes.
