Thank you for updating your ArcGIS Data Appliance.
The update process has been made as smooth as possible, so you can use ArcGIS Data Appliance to explore all the updates in only a few hours. For the easiest way to deploy, see the Existing User Quick Start Guide. This guide is included in the box with your data appliance and provides instructions for getting your basemaps and reference maps deployed to your ArcGIS Server.
Before you proceed, make sure system requirements are met.
The basic deployment workflow is as follows:
The steps above are described below. For detailed instructions and for help deploying the elevation, analysis, and locators services, use the links below.
- Unpack the components.
- Delete ArcGIS services from your previous data appliance installation.
- Shut down your data appliance.
- Remove the old data collections and install the new ones.
- Power on the appliance.
- Verify the new data collections.
- Create shares for the new data collections.
- Configure the cache directories.
Note:
If you're using the World_Imagery service for World Standard or Advanced, or North America Standard or Advanced collections, you need to configure the source document directories.
- Publish the services: Basemap and reference services, World Elevation services, elevation analysis services, and World Places Locator service.
Note:
Optionally, add ExportTiles functionality to download map tiles from the server for offline use.
- Use the services.
For steps 1 and 3–6, see Hardware documentation if you encounter any hardware setup issues.
