Use ROW and Easement Data Management

The ROW and Easement Data Management solution delivers a set of capabilities that help governments and utilities inventory public rights-of-way and easements and share right-of-way and easement information with internal and external stakeholders.

In this topic, you will learn how to use the solution by assuming the role of a user and performing the following workflows.

Note:
Use your organization's data or configured apps to follow these workflows.

  6. In the Tasks pane, click the How to use ROW and Easement Data Management task group to expand the collection of tasks.

Add ROW or Easement from source document

Easements and ROW are conveyed and dedicated through platted subdivisions, surveys or other recorded documents. This workflow should be used when entering measurements or digitizing from paper or scanned drawings.

To manually digitize or enter easements or ROW, follow the steps in the Add ROW or Easement from source document task.

Build ROW or Easement from CAD lines

Easements and ROW are conveyed and dedicated through platted subdivisions, surveys or other recorded documents. This workflow should be used when easements and ROW are sourced from digital submissions or shared as CAD files.

To create new easements or ROW from CAD lines, follow the steps in the Build ROW or Easement from CAD lines task.

Improve ROW or Easement with control and measurements

When receiving new recorded documents that include control points or updated survey measurements, you may need to update the associated ROW or easement parcels.

To modify an existing ROW or easement, follow the steps in the Improve ROW or Easement with control and measurements task.

Vacate a ROW

When new permits are considered, government agencies may need to vacate ROW to provide necessary land required for the new development.

To vacate a ROW, follow the steps in the Vacate a ROW task.

Dedicate a ROW

When a new platted subdivision is recorded, there could be ROW dedicated to a governmental agency to provide the public the right to travel freely.

To dedicate a ROW, follow the steps in the Dedicate a ROW task.
