Files that you add to your organization—such as a shapefile, PDF, or packages—are static. To update the file, you must replace it.
Item owners, organization administrators, and data curators can update items. How you update item content varies by item type.
Tip:
Use the Item type filter in the Content page to display only file or layer file items.
When you update a file item, the download count is maintained.
Follow these steps to replace a file item:
- Sign in to the organization.
- Open the item details for the file.
- Click Update Data on the Overview tab.
- Choose the replacement file from your local machine or a network drive.
The name of the replacement file must be the same as the name of the file you replace.
The file is immediately replaced with the file you choose.
