Work with the daylight tool

You can use the Daylight tool to manipulate the lighting conditions in a scene.

Access the daylight tool

The daylight tool is available as an interactive analysis in the overview, plans, and projects.

Note:
The results are only persisted for the ongoing session.

Daylight tool in the overview

To activate the daylight tool in the overview, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Daylight button Daylight on the toolbar at the lower right of the view.
  2. Follow the steps in the Use the daylight tool section below.

Daylight tool in projects

To activate the daylight tool in a project, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Daylight button Daylight on the toolbar at the upper right of the view.
  2. Follow the steps in the Use the daylight tool section below.

Daylight tool in plans

To activate the daylight tool in a plan, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the Daylight button Daylight on the toolbar at the lower right of the view.
  2. Follow the steps in the Use the daylight tool section below.

Use the daylight tool

To use the daylight tool, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the daylight tool.

    See the Access the daylight tool section above to learn how to open the daylight tool in the overview, in plans, and projects.

  2. Adjust the date and time to set the position of the sun and the stars.

    The light and the shadows in the scene change accordingly.

  3. Click the play button to animate the shadows on the map.

    The shadows are continuously moving on the map.

  4. Uncheck the Sun position by date and time check box to apply the virtual light source relative to the camera.
  5. Uncheck the Shadows check box to turn off the shadows on the map.
