A viewpoint represents a camera position. Use viewpoints to restore locations in the view and move between locations. Viewpoints are available when editing as well as when viewing a plan or a project. Capture, edit, and zoom to viewpoints if you have editing privileges on a plan or project. Zoom to viewpoints configured by users with editing privileges if you are viewing a plan or project without editing privileges.
To use viewpoints, click the Viewpoints button at the lower right of the view.
Capture a viewpoint
To capture a viewpoint, complete the following steps:
- Open the editor.
- Set the view to the position that you want to capture.
- Click the Viewpoints button .
- Click Capture viewpoint.
- Provide a name for the viewpoint and press Enter.
The created viewpoint appears at the bottom of the viewpoints list. The name of the newly added viewpoint is highlighted in blue, indicating it is active.
Edit viewpoints
To edit the name of an existing viewpoint or change the viewpoints order, complete the following steps:
- Open the editor.
- Click the Viewpoints button .
- Click Edit viewpoints.
The Viewpoints dialog box appears.
- To edit the name of a viewpoint, click the Edit viewpoints button next to the viewpoint you want to edit. Type the new name of the viewpoint and press Enter.
- To change the order of the viewpoints, select a viewpoint and drag it to its new location in the list.
- Click OK to save your edits and close the dialog box.
Zoom to a viewpoint
To zoom to a viewpoint, complete the following steps:
- Click a plan or a project in the view or find it in the search panel.
- Click the Viewpoints button on the vertical toolbar between the view and the side panel.
The Viewpoints button is unavailable if there are no viewpoints in the plan or project and you don't have editing privileges.
- Select the name of the viewpoint that you want to zoom to.
The scene zooms to the selected location. The name of the selected viewpoint is highlighted in blue, indicating it is active.
