ArcGIS Survey123 uses artificial intelligence (AI) in a variety of ways throughout the software.

Note:
Survey123 Connect does include a Generate translations (preview) tool. This tool will not be updated. Translating survey designs is a planned capability for Survey123 Studio.
Before you can access AI in Survey123, the following requirements must be met:
- Your ArcGIS Online administrator must configure assistants.
- You must have the privilege to use AI.
- The Survey123 assistant or the analysis tools, must be enabled in the Survey123 website (go to Organization > Settings > Extensions).
Note:
Image questions in surveys published with Survey123 Connect can also be configured to perform image classification, object detection, and object redaction in the Survey123 field app. These capabilities rely on machine learning models that are located on the device, do not use online generative AI services, and are not configured by your ArcGIS Online administrator. Credits
Using a conversation to help you design a survey and the translation assistant do not consume credits. AI image and text extraction consume credits. For more information, see Understand credits in the ArcGIS Online documentation.
Feedback
To provide feedback about an AI response, click the Positive feedback 
or Negative feedback 
button to open a survey and enter your feedback. When you submit a survey, your feedback may be used to guide future development of Esri products and documentation.
Security and privacy
AI in Survey123 aligns with the following principles:
- Prompts are not used to train Esri or third-party AI models.
- Prompts are not used to improve any Esri or third-party product or service.
- Prompts are not stored or shared unless you give explicit permission, such as when you provide feedback about the assistant.
- Prompts are not used to improve the assistant for your own use.
AI transparency cards are available with more security and privacy details.
Limitations
The following are limitations when using AI in Survey123:
- An ArcGIS Online organizational account is required to access AI in Survey123. Other account types, such as public accounts, are not currently supported.
- Suggestions generated using AI can be misleading or inaccurate. To avoid potentially reinforcing any unintentional biases in the AI models used by Survey123, human judgement should be applied to interpreting and acting on the assistant's outputs.
- At its discretion, Esri may implement a rate limit on AI use to maintain performance.
