Contours trace the elevation across your site in a vector data format based on the minor and major intervals specified in Site Scan. Here are the main steps for exporting contours:
- Choose whether you are exporting DSM or DTM data.
- Set your major and minor intervals.
- Export the contours as SHP or DXF format.
To export contours, complete the following steps:
- In the sidebar, under Elevation Data, choose either DSM or DTM.
- Expand the Contours layer.
You will see options to input a minor and major interval.
- Adjust the intervals to your preference. Note that the selected color will not be saved on export, and label graphics will not be exported with the layer.
- Once you are satisfied with your intervals, click Export and scroll to Contours.
You will see options to download contours as either a SHP or DXF file. Each format has its own properties and uses. If you plan to use the contour data in ArcGIS Pro and other GIS applications, SHP is the preferred format. DXF is an Autodesk format that can be used if you plan to load the contours into an AutoCAD project.
