Ground control points

Ground control points (GCPs) help increase the accuracy of processed outputs by matching real-world locations (represented by each GCP) with the corresponding location on an image. You can upload GCPs, add tags, and use them when processing to achieve higher-accuracy results. You can also designate checkpoints from your GCP sets to use for accuracy assessment.

GCPs menu

The GCPs menu shows all GCP sets that have been uploaded to the project. GCP sets are categorized in Site Scan Manager as follows:

  • Project Default—This GCP set is used by default when processing missions.
  • All GCP Sets—This list contains all active GCP sets in the project.
  • Archived GCP Sets—Archived sets cannot be used when processing new missions. You can only archive a GCP set if there is more than one GCP set in a project. Archived sets can be restored at any time.
Note:

Archiving a GCP set does not impact missions that were processed before using that GCP set.

GCP set of a project

You can manage GCP sets on the menu in the following ways:

  • Upload a new GCP set (.csv and .txt files are supported).
  • Change the default GCP set.
  • View and edit existing GCP sets.
  • Archive GCP sets.
  • Restore GCP sets.
