Drawing text

Esri Redistricting supports markup on district maps. You can add text to annotate notes and reminders.

  1. On the Review ribbon, click Draw Text Draw Text.
  2. Click a point on the map at the location of the desired text.

The location is identified on the map with the words Edit Text.

  3. Click Edit Text to reveal a context menu.
  4. Click Edit Text.

The text editing dialog box appears.

  5. Modify the text as needed.

Use the font drop-down menu to change the font type. You can also adjust the text emphasis (for example, bold, italics, and underline), color, and alignment.

The text is updated dynamically, and changes are immediately visible on the map.

  6. Click the Close button Close button to close the text editor.

Once you have digitized a markup feature, you can customize attributes such as changing the line color, transparency, or thickness. For more information on how to customize markup features, see Modifying markup attributes.
