Drawing a free polygon

Esri Redistricting supports mark-ups on district maps. You can draw free polygons to accommodate areas with unique details, such as the curvature of county boundaries, or natural barriers, such as rivers or lakes.

  1. On the Review ribbon, click Draw Free PolygonDraw Free Polygon.
  2. Click the map to draw a free polygon.

Hold the mouse button as you draw the free polygon. The polygon is drawn on the map according to the location of the pointer. Release the mouse button to complete the polygon.

Once you have digitized a markup feature, you can customize attributes such as changing the line color, transparency, or thickness. For more information on how to customize markup features, see Modifying redlining attributes.
