Configuring template plans

In on-premise deployments, plans can be configured as template plans. Template plans, also called seed or default plans, require that a user create a district plan from an existing template. The template can be the current district plan, such as the current congressional districts of the state. One or more template plans can be configured.

  1. Log in to Esri Redistricting as an Administrator.
  2. Create plans which will be configured as the template plan(s).
  3. Share the template plan(s) to the group RXO_TemplatePlan.

Plans designated as template plans can only be shared as read-only.

  4. Log in to the Administrator application.
  5. Click View Roles.
  6. Click to highlight the RXO_Role_Citizen role and click Edit.
  7. Browse the Role Privilege Assignment field and confirm the allowNewPlans privilege is not listed. If the privilege is listed, remove it and click Save.

The ability for application users to see the template plans is managed through privileges. If the application user's role does not have the privilege allowNewPlans on login, the Choose Template Plan dialog box is displayed. If there are no teomplate plans in the RXO_TemplatePlan group, the Choose Template Plan dialog box will display an empty grid.

The default role for citizen users (RXO_Role_Citizen) does not contain the privilege allowNewPlans, so that the Choose Template Plans dialog box is shown on login.
