Esri Redistricting has privileges associated for each tool and capability. As an administrator, privileges help you customize the look and feel of the application to your organization and can streamline the tools available to users based on their role or responsibilities. Below you can learn about default roles in Esri Redistricting and each of the available privileges.
Below is a list of default roles in the Esri Redistricting application and an explanation of each role. Note, however, that you can customize the application and create roles as needed. See Adding roles.
Roles and descriptions

RXO_Role_Citizen | A citizen is a general user of Esri Redistricting and will perform basic functions for district assignments. As a citizen, you may want to change the visible demographics, make assignments, share your plans with groups and perform minor quality checks for the integrity of the district plan. As a citizen, you may also submit plans to your hosting organization for review and consideration in the redistricting process. |
RXO_Role_Powerusers | A power user is responsible for reviewing redistricting plan. As a power user, you may need to compare two plans and do advanced analysis using additional features such as charts and quality checks to help you make informed decisions. |
RXO_Role_Admin | Administrators have full control of the application. These group of users may own the Submitted Plans group, have the ability to create global groups, and have all functionality of the power users. |
Privileges
In the table below, you can see how the privileges are enabled for different roles. The roles and privileges are factory defaults; however, you can customize which privileges are enabled for each role.
