Select features on a Buffer/Drive time analysis layer

Note:

You need the following account and license types to use this feature:

  • Microsoft license—You need a Microsoft 365 license, role Contributor or higher, to update a Buffer/Drive time analysis layer in edit mode.
  • ArcGIS account type—You must sign in to an ArcGIS account to perform all the functions of this workflow.

After running a Buffer/Drive time analysis, you can select features on the Buffer/Drive time analysis layer to perform further analysis and initiate interactions with other Microsoft Power BI visualizations in the report.

A Buffer/Drive time analysis calculates the distance or time between selected locations based on travel mode, time, and distance parameters.

To select features on a Buffer/Drive time analysis layer, complete the following steps:

  1. From the map tools, expand the Selection tools .
  2. Select the Buffer/Drive time analysis layer from the Active layer drop-down list.
  3. Choose a selection tool.
  4. Select one or more feature on the Buffer/Drive time analysis layer.

    Features in the Buffer/Drive time analysis layer are selected. Unselected features on the map appear smaller or become more transparent. Other visualizations are updated to reflect the selected features. You can apply filters and use this data with other Power BI report visualizations.

    Tip:

    A Buffer/Drive time analysis selection can contain a maximum of 250 features to interact with other Power BI report visualizations.

  5. To clear the selection on the map, click the Clear selection button Clear selection.
