View component relationships

Component relationships provide GIS administrators with greater insight into how degraded performance and offline systems affect other parts of the GIS deployment.

  1. Access Monitor if necessary.

    The Home page appears.

  2. Click Monitoring.

    The Monitoring page appears. Registered components are listed alphabetically by component name.

  3. Optionally, do any or all of the following:
    • Click a category on the side of the page to filter the list by that category.
    • Click Sort and change the sorting method.
    • Click Filter and create a query to filter the list.
    • Click Columns and specify the columns to hide or show.
    • Position the pointer at the edge of a column's header and drag the column's edge to resize it.
    • Click Labels to filter the list by the labels that you choose.
    • Type a keyword in the Search by component name or address text box to search for specific components.
  4. Click the name of the component that contains the relationships you want to view.

    The component's Overview page appears with component details and an overview of its metrics.

  5. Click the Relationships tab.

    The component relationship graph appears with the selected component as the largest node. When four or more items of the same type are related to a component, they are displayed as a group and are indicated by a dashed outline.

  6. Optionally, do any or all of the following:
    • Use the mouse wheel or click Zoom in or Zoom out to zoom in and zoom out.
    • Click a node in the graph to trace its upstream and downstream relationships.
    • Click expand group and collapse group next to the groups to show and hide grouped items.
    • Click Filter graph , and create a query to filter related components on the graph. You can also check the Hide intermediate nodes check box on the Filter graph dialog box to show only nodes that match the filter query.
    • Click Show details panel to display a list of the components in the graph in a table view. To search for specific components, type a keyword in the Search by component name text box. You can also click the name of a component to view the component's Overview page.
