Manage your account

You can view and manage your ArcGIS Monitor user account information on the My Profile page and manage your user account settings on the My Settings page.

View your profile

The My Profile page contains basic information about your user account and allows you to change your password and change your security question. To view your profile, complete these steps:

  1. Access Monitor, if necessary.
  2. Click your name at the top of the page and click My Profile.

    The My Profile page appears with your user account information.

View your favorites

The My Favorites page contains a list of the alerts, analysis views, collections, and components that you've marked as favorites. To view your favorites, complete these steps:

  1. Access Monitor, if necessary.
  2. Click your name at the top of the page and click My Favorites.

    The My Favorites page appears with a list of your favorite alerts.

  3. Click a category from the side of the page to switch between your favorite alerts, analysis views, collections, and components.

View your settings

The My Settings page contains your user account settings. To view your settings, complete these steps:

  1. Access Monitor, if necessary.
  2. Click your name at the top of the page and click My Settings.

    The My Settings page appears with your user account settings.

  3. Optionally, change the color theme of the Monitor user interface (UI).
  4. Optionally, configure chart display settings.

Modify your profile and settings

Some profile information and settings on the My Profile and My Settings pages can be modified. You can update your name, email address, password, security question and answer, the color theme of the Monitor UI, and chart display settings. You cannot update your username or role.

Change your name or email address

To change your first name, last name, and email address, complete these steps:

  1. Access Monitor, if necessary.
  2. Click your name at the top of the page and click My Profile.

    The My Profile page appears with your user account information.

  3. Click Edit next to First Name on the My Profile page.

    The First Name, Last Name, and Email dialog box appears.

  4. Update your user account information as necessary.
  5. Click Save.

    Your user account information is updated.

Change your password

To change your password, complete these steps:

  1. Access Monitor, if necessary.
  2. Click your name at the top of the page and click My Profile.

    The My Profile page appears with your user account information.

  3. Click Edit next to Password on the My Profile page.

    The Change Password dialog box appears.

  4. Type your old password in the Old Password text box.
  5. Type your new password in the New Password text box.

    You must provide a password that meets the requirements of your organization. The default password policy requires that your password must be at least eight characters in length and contain at least one letter, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character. Spaces are not allowed. Passwords are case sensitive.

  6. Type your new password in the Repeat New Password text box.
  7. Click Save.

    Your password is updated.

Change your security question

To change your security question and answer, complete these steps:

  1. Access Monitor, if necessary.
  2. Click your name at the top of the page and click My Profile.

    The My Profile page appears with your user account information.

  3. Click Edit next to Security Question on the My Profile page.

    The Change Security Question dialog box appears.

  4. Type your password in the Password text box.
  5. Click the Security Question drop-down arrow and choose a question.
  6. Provide an answer in the Answer text box.
  7. Click Save.

    Your security question is updated.

Reset your password

To reset your password using the Forgot password link on the sign-in page, complete these steps:

  1. Open a web browser and browse to https://monitorserver.domain.com:30443/arcgis/monitor.

    For example, if the machine on which you installed ArcGIS Monitor Server is named abc, and your domain is myorg.net, the URL would be https://abc.myorg.net:30443/arcgis/monitor.

    If Monitor is configured to allow only HTTP communication, browse to http://monitorserver.domain.com:30080/arcgis/monitor instead.

    Note:

    You can also open Monitor from the operating system shortcut that is installed with Monitor Server.

  2. Click the Forgot password link.

    The Reset Password dialog box appears.

  3. Type your username in the Please enter your username text box and click Continue.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • If prompted, answer the security question, reset your password on this page, and click Change Password.
    • If email settings are configured, a password reset link is sent to the email associated with your profile. Open the email, click the provided link, and follow the prompts to reset your password.
    • If you receive a Cannot initiate password recovery message, you must contact your Monitor administrator to reset your password.

Change the color theme of the Monitor UI

To change the color theme of the Monitor UI, complete these steps:

  1. Access Monitor, if necessary.
  2. Click your name at the top of the page and click My Settings.

    The My Settings page appears with your user account settings.

  3. Click Edit next to Color Theme on the My Settings page.

    The Color Theme dialog box appears.

  4. Choose Light or Dark as the Color Theme setting.
  5. Click Save.

    The color theme of the Monitor UI is updated to match the chosen color theme.

Change chart display settings

To change chart display settings, complete these steps:

  1. Access Monitor, if necessary.
  2. Click your name at the top of the page and click My Settings.

    The My Settings page appears with your user account settings.

  3. Click Edit next to Vertices on the My Settings page.

    The Chart Controls dialog box appears.

  4. Turn the Show vertices in line charts toggle button on or off depending on your chart display preferences.
  5. Click Save.

    The charts are updated to match the chosen chart display settings.
