When you install ArcGIS Monitor, you will find the following:
- Monitor initially has only one account, the initial administrator account that you specified when you set up Monitor. This is not an operating system account; it's an account that is used only for signing in to Monitor.
- All administration operations are secure and can be performed by any user that is assigned an Administrator role.
- All web traffic uses secure HTTPS protocol by default.

To reduce the vulnerability of Monitor Server and Monitor Agent machines, it is recommended that you allow only the minimum necessary privileges to the ArcGIS Monitor account.
