ArcGIS Monitor Agent must be registered with ArcGIS Monitor Server before you can begin registering components and collecting data in the network environment where it's installed.
Register as a new agent
To register a Monitor Agent installation in a network environment for the first time, complete these steps:
- Go to https://localhost:30443/arcgis/monitor/setup in a web browser.
The Agent Setup wizard appears. If you're redirected to the Agent Home page, Monitor Agent is already registered with Monitor Server.
Note:
The Agent Setup wizard and Agent Home page can only be accessed using the localhost connection from the machine on which it's installed.
- Provide the URL of Monitor Server using the following URL syntax:
https://monitorserver.domain.com:30443/arcgis
- Provide a username and password for an existing Monitor administrator account and click Next.
To register Monitor Agent with Monitor Server, you must authenticate with Monitor Server using an existing Monitor administrator account.
The Select Registration Method page appears.
- Choose New agent under Select Registration Method and click Next.
- Provide a name for the agent in the Agent Name text box.
- Optionally, provide a description for the agent in the Agent Description text box.
- Click Register.
The Confirm Registration page appears.
- Click Complete on the Confirm Registration page.
The Agent Home page appears with Monitor Agent connection status and information.
Register as an existing agent
If you need to reconnect a Monitor Agent installation or transfer its responsibilities to another Monitor Agent installation, you must register it as an existing agent. Before completing these steps, make sure that the Monitor Agent connection that you want to register as an existing agent is disconnected from Monitor Server. To reconnect a Monitor Agent connection or to transfer its responsibilities to another Monitor Agent machine, complete these steps:
- Go to https://localhost:30443/arcgis/monitor/setup in a web browser.
The Connect to Server page appears.
Note:
If you're redirected to the Agent Home page, Monitor Agent is already registered with Monitor Server.
- Provide the URL of Monitor Server using the following URL syntax:
https://monitorserver.domain.com:30443/arcgis
- Provide a username and password for an existing Monitor administrator account and click Next.
To register Monitor Agent with Monitor Server, you must authenticate with Monitor Server using an existing Monitor administrator account.
The Select Registration Method page appears.
- Choose Existing agent under Select Registration Method and click Next.
The Register Agent page appears with a list of previously registered agents.
- Choose an existing agent in the list and click Register.
The Confirm Registration page appears.
- Click Complete on the Confirm Registration page.
The Agent Home page appears with Monitor Agent connection status and information.
