You can create collections from the Collections page in ArcGIS Monitor. You must be assigned the Administrator or Manager role to create collections. To create a collection, complete these steps:
- Access Monitor, if necessary.
The Home page appears.
- Click Collections.
The Collections page appears with a list of collections sorted alphabetically by collection name.
Tip:
Click Sort to change the sorting method, click Filter to create a query to filter the list, and click the categories at the side of the page to filter the list. You can also search for specific collections by typing a keyword in the Search by collection name or description text box.
- Click Create Collection.
The Create Collection wizard appears.
- Provide a name for the collection in the Collection Name text box.
- Optionally, provide a description for the collection in the Description text box.
- Click Next.
The Feature Service page appears.
- Optionally, configure feature service settings to allow read-only access to collection data using a feature service.
- Turn on Enable Feature Service to create a feature service for the collection.
- Optionally, turn on Secure Feature Service to generate a token for secure access to the feature service.
- Click Next.
The Build Expression page appears.
- Use the expression builder to choose which components you want to add to the collection.
For example, to build a collection that contains all components with a label named Prod, do the following:
- Click Having next to Components and choose Labels.
The Having clause appears under Components.
- Click Where next to the Labels resource.
The clause appears under Labels.
- Click the Select a field drop-down arrow and choose ID.
- Leave the operator set to is.
- Click the Select drop-down arrow and choose the label ID that is associated with the Prod label.
Tip:
To provide your own value, click Source type: Choose value and click Enter value.
- Click Having next to Components and choose Labels.
- Optionally, click Test and then click the Results tab to show a list of components that match the expression.
- Click Create Collection.
The collection is created and appears in the list on the Collection page. If you configured feature service settings for the collection, the feature service URL appears under Service URL on the collection's Overview page.
