Set up ArcGIS Monitor

Once ArcGIS Monitor Server is installed and authorized, you need to create the initial administrator account and connect to the database. This account is different than the ArcGIS Monitor account you provided during the software installation. You'll use the account that you create to initially sign in to Monitor and configure settings.

  1. Go to https://monitorserver.domain.com:30443/arcgis/monitor/setup in a web browser.

The Server Setup wizard appears. If you're prompted for a username and password, Monitor is already set up.

  2. Click Let's Start on the Welcome page.
  3. Provide a username and password to create the initial administrator account and click Create.

The initial administrator account is recognized only by Monitor; it is not an operating system account. This account will have unrestricted access to Monitor and you'll use it to initially sign in to and configure Monitor.

  4. Provide the connection information, and click Connect.

To store data, provide connection details for the Monitor database.

    Tip:

ArcGIS Monitor includes the files to connect to PostgreSQL, so you don't need to install a database client. If PostgreSQL is installed on a machine other than where Monitor Server is installed and you cannot connect to the database, ensure that the database is configured to allow remote connections.

  5. Click Complete on the Complete Monitor Setup page.

You're automatically signed in to Monitor using the initial administrator account that you created during set up.
