Web Editor (beta)

Use the ArcGIS Instant Apps Web Editor (beta) template to offer data editing capabilities for GIS and non-GIS users. Configure the app with an array of editing tools to add, update, or remove features. Use forms to automatically populate attribute values and enforce your organization's data rules to ensure data accuracy. Users can complete a variety of editing workflows on features in a map. Examples

Choose this template to create an app for use cases such as the following examples:

  • Provide subject matter experts access to create and update the assets they manage.
  • Increase editor efficiency with data maintenance through copying, pasting, and bulk attribute editing.
  • Update records after ownership changes or inspections using forms to ensure data quality.

Data requirements

The Web Editor (beta) template requires a web map with at least one editable feature layer. To use this template, you must have a Creator, Professional, or Professional Plus user type and Data Editor, User, Publisher, Facilitator, Administrator, or another custom role with Edit privileges.

App capabilities

The following list includes key settings and capabilities that you can configure to create an app with this template:

  • Editing—Allow users to add, update, delete, split, merge, move, reshape, copy, or paste features, and edit vertices.
  • Selection—Allow users to select features on the map or by attribute.

All Instant Apps templates include settings for a Home button and zoom controls, a legend, and the capability to search the map or data.
