ArcGIS Hub collects anonymous usage statistics for all sites. The data is used to update and enhance the product. Hub administrators, site owners, and site editors can access the following data through the dashboard in the site workspace:
- Views—The number of times the site was visited
- Sessions—The number of times the site was visited by the same person during a period of time (a session will terminate after 30 minutes of inactivity)
- Average time on site—The average of the amount of time a visitor spent on the site
Site owners can also provide their own analytics tracking IDs and disable tracking on their sites.
Enable or disable activity tracking
Hub administrators, site owners, and site editors can enable or disable activity tracking on a site.
Note:
Data does not include visitors who have declined activity tracking on your site.
To enable or diable activity tracking, complete the following steps:
- Edit a site layout.
- Click Settings in the side panel.
- In the Tracking and consent section, click the Hub Activity tracking toggle button to turn it on or off.
- Click Save.
Note:
For browsing activity to be tracked, the Esri User Experience Improvement program must be opted into in the member's organization and the browser configuration must allow activity tracking. Disabling activity tracking means that Hub no longer collects data from the site and data does not appear on the site's dashboard.
Monitor the site dashboard
Every Hub site has an engagement dashboard that is available when activity tracking is enabled. Hub administrators, site owners, and site editors have permissions to access the dashboard, which features charts that show page views and other activity insights for selected time periods. Use the dashboard to monitor these metrics over time.
Those with an ArcGIS Hub Premium license can subscribe to a weekly summary of dashboard metrics. This report contains metrics on site and page views, referrers, content item views, and content downloads.
To monitor the site dashboard, complete the following steps:
