Site editors can select one of the available templates for a customized set of content to configure for specific needs. You can also design a site and save it as a template for others to use.
Activate a site template
Choose a site template to activate a bundle of content that you can configure. Templates focus on a specific topic or workflow and you can use any or all template items. To preview templates created by Esri, browse the ArcGIS Hub Template Gallery. Other members of your ArcGIS Online organization and the public can create and share templates.
Note:
Hub templates are ArcGIS Solutions templates that include the use of ArcGIS Hub.
To activate a site template, complete the following steps:
- Sign in to ArcGIS Hub.
- From the global navigation header, click the Create button and choose Site.
- Click Activate template to create a site from the template.
- Provide a name for the site and click Go.
The template's site editor opens with options to configure the site. Activating a template creates new items in ArcGIS Online for each item included in the template. These items are also accessible in the site's content catalog. Click the Manage site button
to go to the site workspace.

You can save your site and its content as a template for others to use.
To save a site as a template, complete the following steps:
- Open a site in edit mode.
- From the site layout editor, click the More actions button
and choose Save as template. - Click Open template editor to manage the template site in its workspace.
