Release notes for ArcGIS GeoBIM June 2022

The updates below have been made in ArcGIS GeoBIM.

General

General product updates include the following:

  • You can now connect GeoBIM to BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud through your BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud account.
  • The Tools page now has a History tab to track the status of a job.

Enhancements and bug fixes

The following enhancements and bug fixes were made:

  • You can now use the Locate Engineering Documents tool to search for .ifc files stored in the Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • If your CAD or BIM file does not have any location information included natively, you can create a .wld3 file in ArcGIS Pro when georeferencing. This file can be stored with your models in the Autodesk Construction Cloud and supported by GeoBIM for accurately locating your documents and issues.
  • ArcGIS GeoBIM now uses a new geoprocessing back-end service that runs Tools faster and across larger document volumes
  • You can now configure link rules between time-enabled schedule layers and related features on the Links page.

Known Issues

The following are known issues for this release:

  • For existing ArcGIS GeoBIM Dashboard apps, you must open the app item to edit the dashboard and drag all four embedded chart widgets until you can see the GeoBIM icons.
    1. Open the referenced Dashboard app item in your ArcGIS Online content.
    2. Click the Edit Dashboard button.
    3. Hover over a chart, click the Options button Options, and click the Drag item button.
    4. Drag the chart up until the GeoBIM icon appears.
    5. Repeat step 3 and 4 for all the other charts in the dashboard.
    6. Click the Save button on the left.

All functionality is restored to your existing Dashboard app.

  • GeoBIM may freeze when you click the browser's Back button to get to Apps page. Refresh the page to work around this issue.
  • Forge Viewer in GeoBIM does not show all issue locations (issue points) but only shows issue points for a specific issue.
  • Issues created in Autodesk Construction Cloud (except those created in Revit 3D view) are located at the Autodesk Construction Cloud project address in GeoBIM.
  • Issues created in GeoBIM do not display in the Autodesk Construction Cloud Forge Viewer. The created issues show in list of issues for project.
  • Issues created in Autodesk Construction Cloud linked to .dwg files will not display the linked document in the issue table in GeoBIM. This also causes the issue detail to have no link that opens up the GeoBIM Forge Viewer.
  • The Tools page requires you to click Allow to connect to the BIM 360 or Autodesk Construction Cloud project(s). If you attempt to run the tools without allowing the connection, the job will fail to start.
  • When Create New Issue and Measure widget are both activated, clicking on the map will prioritize Create New Issue widget and create a issue point on the map instead of a point for measurement. Here is the workaround for this issue:
    • If you want to use the measure tool, simply close the Create New Issue panel.
    • Disable Measure widget when Create New Issue widget is on.
  • The Measure widget content may disappear until the widget is closed and reopened. This mainly occurs in the distance tool but could also occur in the area tool.
  • World files (.wld3) with rotation may not georeference correctly.
  • Map layers (Feature layers) need to be shared if they do not come from the GeoBIM service. Use the Share an app documentation as a guide.
  • The checkbox for sublayers on the 3D Widget panel may remain checked when the group layer is unchecked.
