Demographic Statistics (also known as DemoStats) is an authoritative method to project regional population trends three, five, and ten years into the future. This Esri Advanced Demographics dataset for Canada is sourced from data supplied by Environics Analytics.
Demographic Statistics consist of current-year estimates for a large group of variables and includes demographic projections for a subset of these variables three, five, and ten years into the future. The Demographics Statistics dataset also contains historical estimates from five years ago, built using the same methodologies to ensure accurate trend analysis.
This dataset is created using methods that combine econometric, demographic, and geographic models. It employs a variety of data sources, including the latest census, current economic indicators, postcensal estimates from the federal and provincial governments, immigration statistics, and economic data such as building permits.
