Available with Business Analyst license.
The U.S. data is updated annually and is available for download on My Esri. To update the data in Business Analyst Enterprise, you must download the data, extract it, and deploy it to the system.
Download data from My Esri
To download data from My Esri, do the following:
- Visit the My Esri site.
- Click Downloads. Select your current ArcGIS Enterprise version, such as ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5 (Linux).
- Click Products, click All Versions, and search for Business Analyst.
- Click U.S. Data for use with ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise and ensure the latest version is used. Click View Downloads.
The latest data page is opened. Ensure that the Downloads tab is highlighted.
Under the Data and Content heading, there are nine files listed.
- Download the first seven files and, optionally, the two hexagon data files.
Note:
The hexagon data is only supported starting at ArcGIS Enterprise 11.4.
Extract downloads
Since some of the data is so large, it is split into multiple archive files. Use 7-Zip to extract data from the files.
Note:
7-Zip is a free software download that can be used on any computer without needing to be registered. If it is not already installed, it can be downloaded from the 7-Zip website.
To extract data from the files, do the following:
- The U.S. data is split into two 7-Zip archive files. Use 7-Zipp to extract the first file, named with the 001 extension. 7-Zip automatically extracts the second part of the archive, named with the 002 extension.
- The points of interest (POI) data is a single zip folder and does not need to be extracted.
- The streets data is split into three 7-Zip archive files. Use 7-Zip to extract the first file with the 001 extension. The additional files are automatically assembled.
- The geocoding data is a single 7-Zip archive file. Use 7-Zip to extract it.
- The hexagon data is optional and is split into two 7-Zip archives. Use 7-Zip to extract the first file, named with the 001 extension. 7-Zip automatically extracts the second part of the archive, named with the 002 extension.
After extracting these files, there should be at least four folders:
- GEDatapack_USA_2025R1.zip
- Streets Data
- Geocoding Data for ArcGIS Pro
- GEDatapack_USA_DataAxle_POI_2025R1.zip
- GEDatapack_USA_2025R1_Heraxgons.zip (optional)
Deploy updated data
To use the updated data within your system, you must deploy it. The most recent data can be deployed alongside the previous year's data or installed by itself.
Note:
If you want to remove the previous vintages of data, see Remove data packs.
Deploy the updated data by doing the following:
- Install the most recent data pack using the data management wizard. Optionally replace the previous year data or add the current year alongside the previous year.
- Update the routing services with the updated streets data.
- Delete the existing routing services from ArcGIS Server Manager.
- Configure routing services to publish new routing services from the updated data.
For GeoEnrichment Service to sync with the new routing service, restart GeoEnrichment Service from GeoEnrichment Service.
- Share the updated USA address locator as a geocoding service by doing the following:
- Add the updated USA address locator to ArcGIS Pro.
- Share the locator as a hosted service.
- Configure the utility service in the portal.
- Delete the previous year's USA geocode service from ArcGIS Server Manager.
