Available with Business Analyst license.
ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise includes a street network dataset for the U.S. that can be configured as routing services to a federated ArcGIS Server site. You can configure the routing services to the GeoEnrichment Server site or any other site, as long as it is federated and has an authorized ArcGIS Network Analyst extension and ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America extension. This process creates the routing services based on your network dataset and registers them as utility services in your ArcGIS Enterprise portal for applications to discover and use.
Once configured, the services can be used with Business Analyst Enterprise for creating drive-time, walk-time, and distance-based sites.
License:
To configure routing services, your ArcGIS Server site must be authorized with ArcGIS Network Analyst extension and ArcGIS StreetMap Premium North America extension licenses. These licenses are included with Business Analyst Enterprise.
Download the street network dataset
To download the street network dataset, complete the following steps:
- On the My Esri site, click Downloads, click ArcGIS Enterprise 12.0 (Linux), click Products, click All Versions, and search for Business Analyst.
- Find U.S. Data for use with ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise, select the latest version, and click View Downloads.
The street network dataset is comprised of three files. All three must be downloaded to a folder on your local drive.
- Expand the details of the download components to see the descriptions.
- Find #1 ArcGIS Business Analyst Enterprise 2025 Street Data MGDB (U.S.A), and click Download.
- In the Esri Download Manager window, click Click to download your file now.
- Keep the default location or click Browse and browse to and choose a different location.
- Right-click ArcGIS_BAEnterprise_StreetsData_USA_2025.7z.001, and click 7-Zip > Extract Here.
Tip:
While you can keep the street network dataset in a shared location that is accessible to all the machines on your GIS server site, it is recommended that you copy the dataset locally, on each machine, for best performance when running the services.Authorize the street network data for ArcGIS Enterprise
To configure routing services with ArcGIS Enterprise, the StreetMap Premium North America extension must be authorized for ArcGIS Server. Upon purchase of Business Analyst Enterprise, an authorization code is provided through My Esri.
To install the authorization, complete the following steps:
- On the My Esri site, click Licensing, and click Authorizations.
- In the Quick Search text box, type Business Analyst.
The results display all Business Analyst products available.
- Find the ArcGIS Business Analyst Server N America authorization (formerly called ArcGIS Business Analyst NA for Server) for the current software version, and expand the Details section to view the authorization number.
- Copy the authorization number and use it to activate your license using the ArcGIS Server software authorization wizard.
Configure routing services using your street network dataset
After downloading and extracting the data, configure and publish routing services using your network dataset to a federated ArcGIS Server site.
The following is an example network dataset path:
- /StreetMap Premium Data/northamerica.geodatabase/Routing/Routing_ND
Note:
If routing services are configured after installing and configuring ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Server, ArcGIS GeoEnrichment Service must be restarted from ArcGIS Server Manager to sync with the routing services.
Configure routing services from ArcGIS Online
You can configure your portal to use utility services from ArcGIS Online instead of configuring them to your own server, allowing you to provide street network coverage outside the United States. To use online network services provided by Esri, you must have an ArcGIS Online organizational account. The account must have credits associated with it and the correct permissions to use the utility services.
The ArcGIS Online network services provide coverage for several countries or areas.
To configure routing services from your portal, complete the following steps:
- Sign in to the portal website using your organization's default administrator credentials.
- At the top of the site, click Organization, and click the Settings tab.
- Click ArcGIS Online on the side of the page.
- Select Network.
- Provide the credentials for the ArcGIS Online account that is to be used for the utility services.
- Click Configure.
