Configure Bridge Inventory

Bridge Inventory can be used to develop a bridge inventory and inform stakeholders.

In this topic, you'll learn how to configure the Bridge Inventorysolution to meet specific needs of your organization.

Load data

If you already have started a bridge inventory using another system, you can load your existing data to speed up the inventory creation process.

Load bridges from a shapefile or file geodatabase

To load bridges from a shapefile or file geodatabase, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a .zip file of your shapefile or file geodatabase.
  2. Sign in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the Bridges feature layer.
  3. From the item page, click Update Data.
  4. Follow the steps in the Update data wizard to load your data.

Extend editing template

Note:
This workflow is optional and doesn't need to be completed in order to work with the solution.

The Bridge Inventory solution was designed with the National Bridge Inventory. For asset management workflow or more extensive attribute storage, additional fields can be added to the template.

To extend the editing template, complete the following steps:

  1. Verify that you are signed in to your ArcGIS organization and browse to the Bridges layer item page.
  2. Click the Data tab.
  3. Add desired fields to the Bridges hosted feature layer.

    For more information about adding a new field, see Add fields from Table view.

  4. Click the Apps button Apps in the header of the site and click Field Maps Designer.
  5. Click Bridge Field Map .
  6. Use the form designer to add to, modify, or update the data collection experience.
