Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals

Sustainable Development Goals can be used to share progress made on the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals, and their key indicators, with the public and other interested stakeholders.

In 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The agenda establishes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are a universal call to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. Recently, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, climate change, and violent conflicts have wreaked havoc on many aspects of our lives. Understanding the impact of these crises and evaluating progress on resulting policies requires significant investment in data and information. This investment in timely, high-quality, and disaggregated data can drive targeted responses, help anticipate future needs, and shape urgently needed actions.

The Sustainable Development Goals solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you share progress made on Sustainable Development Goals, encourage community engagement, and combat misinformation.
