Introduction to Crime Reduction Statistics

Crime Reduction Statistics can be used to generate key statistics and reports, monitor crime trends, and modernize CompStat practices.

Many agencies attempt to reduce crime by using a traditional CompStat process, but they struggle because inefficient data processes and static analysis products impede their ability to efficiently detect and prioritize problems. They recognize that CompStat relies heavily on percent change statistics and often misinterprets normal seasonal spikes in crime. This misinterpretation ultimately leads to inefficient, or misguided, operational decisions. Crime Reduction Statistics is typically implemented by law enforcement agencies that want to use current data and statistics to identify trends. The agencies can then make this information available to police executives so that they can make faster and more informed decisions.

The Crime Reduction Statistics solution delivers a set of capabilities that help you manage incident data, generate key statistics and reports, and monitor trends in crime.
